  1. I haven't seen such terrifying oppression as it was in Australia.
"Racially incurable people as a cheap labours and servants" astonished me the most. Despite conditions and attitude that athletes and sportsmen had that was really amazing for them to have so much abilities. Tragedy of Australian children, their diseases, predestination of the aboriginal people, especially their suicides incredibly distressed and rebelled me.
    Unbearable, almost lifeless existence.
Can't understand the ideology and thoughts of people, acceptance of the government who demolished all the Australian talents and indigenous people at all.

  2. I can’t understand all these facts. It is really horrible and cruel. I have never known before about aboriginals of Australia, about their genocide! Living conditions were terrible. Poor children! Now I have their faces in my eye. Also I have never heard about aboriginal sportsmen. They were the best ones in the world! It was amazing how those people with such conditions and oppressions scored success. Diseases, slavery, child labor are inhuman acts! I don’t understand how the civilized society could treat with the same people only with another colour of skin. I think it is the disgrace of Australians and the government, of course! And it is good that they could regain consciousness and admit their guilt and cruelty. Better late than never!

  3. The fact I wasn’t aware of is the problem of aboriginal peoples in Australia. It’s hard to understand how in the end of 20th century there existed and exists now such a yawning gap in living standards of townspeople and aborigines living in slums. The government is showing terrible double-facedness, adopting the human rights treaty and paying no attention on people without rights. The great amount of aboriginal sportsmen shows that is the only way for them to keep up with Sydney dwellers. Furthermore, how the organizations which used to break apart families could be called “Christian”?

  4. To tell you the truth,I never knew a lot about aborigines of Australia, about the terrible situation that takes place in this country.I was really shocked when I saw the conditions of their life.but also I was surprised by one fact:when there was identical situation in USA(the discrimination of afroamericans),it was a real revolution, the sociaty changed their way of thinking and now treir rights are equal. But this time sociaty of the whole world keeps silense. We all heard about discriminating of afroamericans, but only some of us heard about genocide of aborigines. And I really don't understand why.

  6. We've read about this discrimination during our class, but I never new that it was still there, the problem was not solved. It seemed to me that after publication of the Coming Home report, after this Forgiveness Day was set, something had changed. But as I see people still suffer because of the colour of their skin. That is horrible.. and all those sportsmen, great people! talented people! they should be famous and honoured.
I still can't get out of my head that image of a child, one of many, with his face dirty and his eyes full of flies.
The government has to do something about it, it's their people, their own country. If they claim this land, they should have some responsibility.

  7. I would have never thought that such magnificent piece of land as Australiacontains awful facts. There is some information that I didn't expect to know from this video.Such facts as high level of death in custodies, a great number of children's deaths, only because local medical centers don't enough drugs or because there is no medical equipment to safe little children. And of course the most of all I was impressed by aborigines and their life?they have no been people for government for a lond time.In spite of among aborigines there were champions .

  8. This video is terrible. I have never heard about Australian indigenous and their discrimination in Australia. And I find this fact so unbelievable and ridiculous; cause of such situation can’t exist in the country, which has the Third World conditions. As it turned out, it can! I have never known, that so many Australians are fond of sport and there were and there are so many talented indigenous sportsmen. It was a real discovery for me that the Australian Government was finally recognized Aborigines as people with common law rights only in 1992! I was impressed by miserable children, who were fettered. It was a real slavery in modern life. Thanks John Pilger for such informative video.

  9. This video has impressed me and totally changed my opinion about Aboriginal. Earlier I thought that Aboriginals are the wild people, who live their lives. After seeing this video, I understood that this people are very strong and at the same time are very kind, in spite of all tortures of white people. They could forgive them and they were able to continue living together on the same continent ( Matviienko Vadym)

  10. This video impressed me. I've neve herd about problem of of aboriginal peoples in Australia . It's so inhumane, and also it's hard to imagine that it was in the end of 20th century and even now the attitude to the of aboriginal peoples was/is so cruel. After watching this video, I anderstood that this people are courageous and steadfast. I hope the government of Australia will do somethig to improuve their living conditions.

  11. I watched this video in one breath. I have never thought , that Aboriginals lived such bad and they were tortured by Australians because they were not treated like white people. But Aboriginals made famous Australia in sport for centuries. I am sorry them…. I am just ashamed of the people who hurt such a nice people.

  12. Before watching this video I have known nothing about Australia. Unfortunately, I had no interest in this country. But this video really touch me. The first part was enough interesting about Olympic Games that took place in Sidney. As I have understood, football and swimming are the most popular kinds of sport. Australian swimmers have been one of the strongest squads at the Olympic Games. But the most serious problems appear in the following parts of this film. There exist a big problem with a large amount of death. And the main reason is bad life conditions (because of what many people have problems with their health and with the sight in particular) and also the relations between people with different colors of the skin. I, personally, have never understood this, because the color of skin doesn't characterized the person. As said white Australian Aboriginal people died faster than white people. Many of them commit suicide. And a very terrible spectacle was when there were shown the cemetery. Unfortunately, most of the victims are young...

  14. this documentary gave me a lot of new information in what i never interested before. Anglo Australians have treated the Aborigines very bad. It is very upsetting because rightfully this is their land. Who they are to make judgments to the people who they should be thanking and showing some dignity and respect towards?it's terrible.
